AZ-900 Study Guide: Plan Your Azure Fundamentals Preparation

Use the official objectives as your starting point

Microsoft describes Azure Fundamentals around cloud concepts, Azure architecture and services, and management and governance. Use the current certification page and linked study guide to confirm the scope before choosing lessons.

The plan below is an independent study approach. It is not a replacement for Microsoft’s objectives or a prediction of the questions you will receive.

Build a vocabulary you can explain

Start a glossary in your own words. For each term, add a plain-language definition, an example, and a situation where it would not be the right fit. Keep definitions short enough to explain to a colleague who is new to cloud computing.

Try a scenario: a small organisation wants to host an application but has limited time for operating-system maintenance. Write down which responsibilities it wants to retain and which it wants a provider to manage. Then connect that decision to the cloud models in your study materials.

Compare choices instead of collecting names

A list of service names is difficult to use in a scenario. Build comparison notes around the problem each option solves. For every pair of plausible choices, write the condition that makes one more appropriate.

Keep a separate page for security and governance questions. State who needs access, what they need to do, and what the organisation needs to control or observe. Use official documentation to check the boundaries of each feature.

• What problem does this concept address?
• Which responsibility remains with the customer?
• What constraint would change the choice?

Use small checks throughout your study

After a learning session, close your notes and explain two concepts. Follow with a short practice set, then review every guess. If the same concept causes repeated mistakes, spend the next session on an example rather than another quiz.

Where you use hands-on resources, choose an approved guided environment and review any costs before creating resources. Keep notes on what you observed and remove resources when the exercise is complete.

Make a readiness decision

Use Microsoft’s linked preparation resources to check the objectives again. A useful final exercise is to explain one unfamiliar scenario for each objective without relying on remembered answer letters.
